Statement of Intent
Data shows that approximately 13,000 plastic bottles are used globally every minute. Plastic pollution is pervasive and has devastating effects on marine life, and soil pollution, and it can even enter the food chain in the form of microplastics and plastic fragments.
In this project, I aim to tell a story through a short film about the journey of a plastic flower from its planting to blooming, and gradually connecting and integrating with the human body.
To create this short film, I remade plastic bottles into flower installations for filming and designed posters.
Through this story, I hope the audiences can think about the relationship between humans and plastic, and reflect on their plastic usage habits. The film suggests that what we discard may one day come back to us.
